    KITA to host Korea-Russia Business Dialogue in conjunction with Eastern Economic Forum

    Discussions on cooperation in the shipbuilding, logistics, IT & smart city sectors to take place


    In conjunction with the ongoing 6th Eastern Economic Forum, “The 13th Korea-Russia Business Dialogue” will be held in a two-way virtual conference format on September 3rd in Korea and Russia. This Dialogue will be co-hosted by KITA, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, KRDV and Roscongress. Chairman Christopher Koo of KITA, President Sergei Katyrin of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and entrepreneurs from Korea and Russia will participate as speakers. Congratulatory video messages will be delivered by the Korean Minister of Economy and Finance Hong, Nam-ki and the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev.


    The Korea-Russia Business Dialogue will be an opportunity to showcase success stories of the shipbuilding and logistics sectors ? the areas where active economic cooperation between Korea and Russia continues to grow. Zvezda shipyard collaboration project will be presented by Ka, Sam-hyun, the CEO of Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering as anexample from the shipbuilding sector.

    Unico Logistics from Korea and FESCO ? a maritime transportation operator from Russia will present on success stories of the logistics sector with examples from transport via Trans-Siberian Railway (TSR) and possible pathways of enhancing logistics infrastructure in the far east region.

    The Dialogue will also introduce new business opportunities in the IT and smart city sectors, which will be models for economic partnership between the two countries that buttress new economic growth. KT is expected to captivate the audience with their presentation on a plan to establish an Internet Data Center (IDC) and an ICT-based medical examination center in Primorsky Krai region ? the venue of the upcoming Eastern Economic Forum.


    “Korea-Russia Business Dialogue inaugurated in 2008 and since then served as an important channel of providing a ground for interaction between Korean and Russian companies” said Jo, Hakhoo, the Vice President for International Affairs of KITA. He expressed hopes by mentioning “This year’s Dialogue should serve as an opportunity to expand sectors of cooperation from existing ones, such as shipbuilding, agriculture and logistics and discover new sectors of cooperation in preparation of the post-Covid era.”
